Community assistance
Support through a hard season
Practical help and honest guidance for neighbors facing hardship — offered one household at a time.
What this program does
Community assistance is the part of our work that begins with a conversation. A volunteer or staff member listens to what a household is facing, explains what our foundation can realistically do, and points to trusted community resources for everything else.
Because circumstances vary widely, assistance is reviewed case by case and is limited by the resources available at the time. We would rather be clear about what we can do than promise more than we can deliver.
Typical forms of support
- Guidance and referrals to local agencies and service providers
- Connection to our food pantry and education programs
- Help preparing for appointments, applications and follow-up
- Seasonal support drives organized with partner churches and businesses
